"Dark Amethyst Suite"

After spending a few days sorting some of my new beads and pulling out ones that were inspiring me, I went on a bit of a bender with the Amethysts. I didn't actually have an idea in mind when I started this and tried several bases for the focal drop before deciding on this one. And being me, I decided to use silver with my favoured gold accents to make things look more lush. Give it a little warmth. The 'bead frames' were a blast to use and frame the dark of the beads in a very regal way. But I absolutely love the carved 'leaf' dangle which drove the whole experiment. I keep a tiny polishing cloth on my table to shine up some of the beads as I use them, and these ones just glowed. I'm really pleased how this necklace turned out. I used a couple more of the silver bead frames and made the earrings to match. 

 

 

Anyway, be prepared for more forays into using Amethyst. It's my most favourite stone.
